Therapeutic counselling for grief and growth
You’re probably here because you’re looking for support with an issue that’s affecting you or you’re struggling with something and you’re not sure of a way forward.
Firstly, well done for taking the first step to seeking help with change. I know how hard it can be and how daunting the idea of counselling is to some, but hopefully we can work together to unpick what’s going on for you so you can figure out ways to safely and confidently move on with your life.
I’m a therapeutic counsellor based in the Bromley area and North Kent. I work with adults in an integrative way, which means I call upon various psychotherapeutic theories to help inform sessions. But at the heart of my work is a person-centred approach. The focus is on you and what you need to bring to sessions in confidence, with respect shown to you and your values with zero judgement. Warm, accepting and most of all, human.
You’ll find that I work from calm, relaxing spaces in Bromley town centre and Locksbottom in Orpington, where I can ensure the focus is on you and whatever it is you have to bring in an environment of psychological safety and confidentiality.
I’m a fully qualified and insured counsellor based in Bromley and I also work in the Sidcup and Sevenoaks areas of Kent.
I’ve been working in bereavement support at St Christopher’s hospice in Orpington since 2022 and currently work with a health and social care charity in Bromley with clients who are living with complex issues relating to drugs and alcohol abuse, homelessness and the criminal justice system. I also undertake short-term talk therapy with people living with breast cancer and supported by The Primrose Centre in Orpington.
Working in these settings means I have experience of a wide range of issues including trauma, addiction, stress, anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts and problems with life transitions and change, in general.
If therapy modalities are of interest to you, I work in a person-centred way, but will dip into other modalities, including psychodynamic. However, I’m really keen on not adhering to one way of working – as humans, there is no one size fits all. Instead, I’m interested in you, the issues you’re bringing, why they're causing you problems and how we can work together to figure out a way for you to move forward, free from unhelpful patterns and behaviours, so that you're able to truly be the person you are meant to be.
Because therapy is a collaborative process, we both have to be comfortable working together. For this reason I offer a free no-obligation 15-minute phone consultation which, like all sessions, will be held in confidence.
Get in touch to organise a mutually appropriate time for a chat.
I see clients who present with a range of issues, sometimes stemming from a bereavement or difficulty navigating complex grief, sometimes not.
It’s not uncommon for people to use unhelpful coping methods as they struggle on alone with an issue, which can lead to a dependency or addiction. Here is just a selection of the issues I’ve helped clients with:
Addiction
Anxiety
Bereavement
Bullying
Burnout
Cancer
Dementia
Depression
Domestic abuse
Family issues
Health anxiety
Low confidence
Menopause
Narcissistic abuse
Redundancy
Relationship problems
Transitions and life changes
Work stress
I work from beautifully calm, relaxing spaces in the Bromley and North Kent area. All have been carefully chosen for convenience and to ensure utmost confidentiality. Some are more accessible than others, so do let me know if you have mobility issues and we can try to find a time for you in an appropriate setting, or we can work online.
I hold sessions two days a week in the beautifully refurbished Old Town Hall, Bromley, conveniently located in Bromley town centre (entrance in Tweedy Road, close to The Glades shopping centre). The Old Town Hall is a destination in itself with food and drink available on site, including the popular Dorothy & Marshall restaurant, and is very close to Bromley town centre for shopping and convenient parking.
I work from The Primrose Centre in Locksbottom, Orpington two days a week. This beautifully restored former church is a peaceful space with easy free parking. It’s located close to the entrance of the Princess Royal University Hospital, Orpington, just off the A21 and on bus routes.
I’m available for sessions in both Sidcup (close to both Chislehurst and New Eltham) and Sevenoaks town centre. Alternatively, I can hold online sessions, as long as you have a confidential space with stable internet connection available to you.
